About Me

Photography - Same World, Different Vantage Points.

I’m a hobbyist photographer based in Western Australia, a nature lover, and an avid traveler with a curiosity about the world and the people who shape it.

Photography came first. I began learning photography with a manual SLR film camera, where every frame made me think carefully about what I wanted to capture. As digital photography became the norm, I eventually transitioned to a DSLR, opening up new possibilities for experimentation and composition. Travel came later, giving me an ever-changing world to photograph.

I love mountains. There is something about being surrounded by a vast landscape, standing beneath a mountain range, or simply being somewhere far removed from the familiar that keeps drawing me back. At the same time, I enjoy the energy and character of cities, the stories preserved in historic places, and the quieter details of everyday life. Many of my travels bring these different experiences together. A journey might take me from a busy city to an ancient temple, then into the mountains or a remote landscape.

Coming from a multicultural background, speaking more than one language, and having lived in different countries, I’ve also always been interested in how the same world can be understood, experienced, and expressed in different ways. When I travel, I want to understand the history of a place, the way people live, the beliefs they hold, the language they speak, and the food they share. These are often the things that reveal what makes one place different from another.

This website is a collection of those moments: places I have visited, things I have seen, and a little of what I found along the way.

Behind the photographs

Many of the photographs on this site are High Dynamic Range (HDR) images, created by combining three exposures at different exposure values (EV). I use this technique to retain detail across highlights and shadows and to give an image greater depth and vibrancy.

Note: This website is a work in progress while I migrate all my photos from another server. All photographs are copyrighted. Please contact me for permission before using or reproducing any of the images.
